NeatURL members cannot send email from our servers. If you have received an email relating to a NeatURL member site, it did not originate from our servers. We recommend using spam cop to report such spam as they will trace the spam back to the originating server and report the incident to the relevant administrator.

NeatURL does not tolerate "spamvertising" however (people advertising their website through spam) and will view such spamvertising as abuse of the NeatURL service as outlined below.

What Constitutes Abuse of NeatURL

The following constitute abuse of the NeatURL service and will be investigated seriously:

SPAM and unsolicited commercial email:

• Sending of unsolicited commercial email using a NeatURL email address.
• SPAMMING usenet newsgroups, bulletin boards, web site guest books, etc, with unsolicited commercial posts.

Offensive Web Site Content:

• For more details of what web site content is acceptable, please refer to the NeatURL member rules.
• Please note that community and personal standards very greatly from person to person, and across cultures. NeatURL also respects freedom of speech where such speech is not viewed as detrimental to humanity.

Reporting Abuse

SPAM Email

• Report SPAM immediately! (within 48 hours). The older the SPAM the harder it is to try and trace the SPAMMER through server email logs.
• Please copy-and-paste both the headers and body of the offending email into a new email and send it to abuse@neaturl.com
• You normally do not see the headers of an email message when you are viewing it in an email program such as Outlook Express. However, this is the most important part of the email to send us, as it helps us try and track who the SPAMMER was.

1. Highlight the message in the message list, press [ctrl][F3] and a new window will open that contains both the headers and body.
2. Press [ctrl][a] to select all the text in this window.
3. Press [ctrl][c] to copy the text.
4. Open a new message and press [ctrl][v] to paste the text into the body of your new message.
5. Send the email to abuse@neaturl.com

Other SPAM

Please provide:

• Your full name and contact details.
• Details of the offence.

Offensive Web Site Content.

• Please provide the NeatURL address to the web site (eg; cool.as/joe) or web page that you find offensive.
• Please state exactly and specifically what content on the site offends you.

Notes

• NeatURL makes every endeavour to investigate reported abuse as soon as possible after being reported. Usually this is within 36 hours of the report being made. Due to the limitation of resources, NeatURL may not respond directly to your complaint.
• All abuse reports sent to abuse@neaturl.com are stored for future reference.
• Where required, NeatURL may need to divulge correspondence to legitimate law enforcement bodies.
