Overview

NeatURL is a service to web site publishers who wish to create a simple, novel, well branded and easy-to-promote internet identity through which web traffic can be directed and email forwarded. NeatURL welcomes owners of personal home pages, educational, non-profit and community organizations and commercial web sites providing genuine products, services or information. In order to provide the network resources required to deliver NeatURL as a FREE service, NeatURL places a small network strip on the browser window of each web page served through a NeatURL redirection. NeatURL may also generate one additional browser window containing advertising or promotional material (as a pop-behind or exit window). However, any such browser window will not obstruct visitors to your web site viewing your content; nor shall their frequency or use be excessive.

In fact our aim is to minimize the amount of advertising on the network! We seek to provide you with the most valuable and convenient service possible within the limits of the resources available from revenue generated. The quality of the service also depends on the fair use of the network by all members.

In the very near future, NeatURL will be providing members with the option of upgrading to an advertising-free account for a very small fee.

The following rules govern what constitutes acceptable and unacceptable use of the NeatURL service.

Your Web-Site Content

These rules include links placed on your site to other sites.

• No SPAM!!!
• Web site must be written in English.
• No pornography or sexually explicit material.
• No warez, cracks, serials, hacks, Internet/network/computer abuse or software pirating information.
• No MP3 download, file-sharing or ftp sites.
• No illegal content or promotion or condoning of unlawful activity.
• No content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or vilifying.
• No fraud, e-mail fraud, chain mail, pyramid selling or get rich quick schemes.
• No copyright, trademark, patent, trade-secret or other intellectual property infringement including cyber-squatting and the use of miss-spellings of trademarks or brands.
• The main content of the site must be contained within the page redirected to by your NeatURL and not in another frame or window. DO NOT break out of the network frame.
• Site must be available to the general public. No sites hidden behind password only access.
• Content must be relevant to your NeatURL account name.
• The web-site your NeatURL redirects to must be your own web-site, with original content (no mirror sites).
• Your NeatURL must point directly to a completed, published web site or web page. It cannot be used to direct traffic through another redirection service.
• No direct click-throughs/redirects/entry-gates to affiliate/referral sites.
• Your web-site may not spawn an unreasonable number of browser windows.
• No spawning of trap windows that cannot be closed by the viewer of your web-site.

Your Conduct

• No SPAM. Including but not restricted to bulk unsolicited email; advertising in newsgroups, IRC, chat rooms, instant messenger programs, forums. Your NeatURL identity cannot be used in association with any illegal activity or conduct or any activity or conduct which may cause damage to the commercial interests of NeatURL.
• You must provide your real name and email address when registering.
  Note: You will be asked to enter your name when activating your account, after you receive your confirmation email.
• You must be over thirteen (13) years of age to become a NeatURL member.
• You are required to keep your account password secure and secret and not compromise the security of the NeatURL network or systems.
• You are required to notify NeatURL immediately upon knowledge of any unauthorized access, abuse or security breach related to your NeatURL account.
• You must not impersonate or represent yourself in any way that may misrepresent your identity or affiliation to any other person, including a NeatURL official or representative.

Network Traffic and Resources

• No abusive inflation of traffic or automated generation of hits. Each hit must be caused by the visit of a genuine visitor to your site. (No automated clicks, bots, etc.).
• Each redirection must contain the NeatURL network frame. Using JavaScript or similar methods to break out of the network frame is not allowed.
• Your use of the service must not place an unreasonable burden on system or network resources or cause the service to become degraded or in any way interfere with the enjoyment of the service by other members.
